Dallas, TX – May 25, 2017 – Scheef & Stone was excited to provide local minority high school students with a glimpse into the field of law through L.G. Pinkston High School’s law practicum program. Scheef & Stone joined forces with Jones Day, Haynes and Boone and the District Attorney’s office over the course of six weeks to provide students with candid, hands-on experience practicing law. The program was designed to provide students with an opportunity to learn more about practicing law, which may encourage them to pursue a career in the legal industry once they graduate.
Over the course of several weeks, the students received presentations from Scheef & Stone attorneys on bankruptcy, receiverships and real estate—just to name a few. The firm also provided students with practical and professional development presentations on dressing for success, business development and social media.
“This program aligns perfectly with our firm’s commitment to diversity,” co-founding partner Kelly Crawford said. “We firmly believe that diversity leads to more effective resolutions of the challenges our clients face daily. The ability to help shape and encourage diversity down the road is paramount.”
