Scheef & Stone, LLP is pleased to announce that Partner Melinda Sims has been elected as a Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation, one of the most respected honors within the Texas legal profession.

The Texas Bar Foundation recognizes attorneys who have demonstrated outstanding professional achievement and a commitment to improving the legal profession and their communities. Each year, only one-third of one percent of Texas attorneys are invited to become Fellows, making membership highly selective and distinguished.

Melinda’s election reflects her dedication to client service, professionalism, and leadership within the legal community. Throughout her career, she has built a reputation for thoughtful counsel, strong advocacy, and meaningful contributions to the profession.

Founded in 1965, the Texas Bar Foundation is the largest charitably funded bar foundation in the nation. Through grants and charitable initiatives, the Foundation has awarded more than $30 million to nonprofit organizations across Texas that promote access to justice, legal education, and public service programs. In the 2024–2025 fiscal year alone, the Foundation awarded a record-breaking $1.7 million in grant funding to organizations serving communities throughout the state.

Melinda’s election as a Fellow connects her to a distinguished group of attorneys committed not only to excellence in the practice of law, but also to supporting initiatives that strengthen the justice system and expand legal resources for Texans.

Scheef & Stone congratulates Melinda on this distinguished recognition and her election as a Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation.
