Overview
Rickie Ilodianya is an Associate in Scheef & Stone’s Litigation section, focusing on complex commercial and civil litigation, including real estate and construction matters. His clients range from small and midsize to Fortune 500 companies.
In the real estate sector, Rickie advises owners, investors, developers, landlords, and commercial tenants in matters such as landlord/tenant disputes, contract disputes, boundary issues, wrongful foreclosures, title disputes, and creditor/debtor disputes. Rickie also advises owners, developers, contractors, subcontractors, architects, and engineers in construction litigation matters, including the prosecution of claims of malpractice for design failure; prosecution and defense of claims related to construction process delays; and negotiation of construction project contracts.
In matters of all types and complexities, Rickie is known for crafting creative solutions to the toughest legal challenges his clients face. He demonstrates his value from the beginning of each engagement, establishing relationships founded on trust and quickly becoming a go-to resource for his clients.
Experience
Before joining Scheef & Stone, Rickie was a law clerk at Nowak & Stauch, PLLC, where he assisted on matters related to commercial collections, insurance defense, commercial trucking, oil and gas litigation, and employment litigation. Before that position, Rickie interned with personal injury firm Ted B. Lion & Associates.
During law school, Rickie was a student attorney in the Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law Civil/Consumer Clinic, which provides representation for low-income clients in Dallas-area federal and state courts. Rickie’s interest in the real estate industry goes back to his time as an undergraduate in the G. Brint Ryan College of Business at the University of North Texas, where he participated in the real estate club.
