ASSOCIATE

Overview

Abbye West is an Associate in Scheef & Stone’s Litigation section, representing clients in a wide range of commercial disputes at the trial or appellate level. Abbye aims to leverage her diverse legal experience to assist clients with all aspects of business litigation from start to finish, including discovery disputes, trial preparation, depositions, mediation, and settlement negotiations.

Experience

Abbye has extensive litigation experience at a previous law firm, where she served as lead counsel in contested evidentiary hearings, drafted and argued complex motions and briefs, prepared and presented applications for temporary restraining orders, secured summary judgments, and handled a variety of appellate matters.

Early in her career, she gained in-house experience for a biotech company. During law school, she interned for the Honorable Sidney A. Fitzwater in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas, giving her invaluable insight into how to craft a persuasive legal argument.

She was also part of the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers Leadership Class in 2021, served as DAYL Judicial Internship Committee co-chair from 2021-2023, and was an associate at the Higginbotham Inn of Court in 2023. Additionally, she served as an associate managing editor for the International Law Review Association in 2018.
