Caroline Hardy
Overview
Caroline Hardy is an associate attorney with Scheef & Stone. Her practice focuses primarily on civil litigation and commercial disputes. Caroline brings valuable judicial experience to her practice, having served as a Staff Attorney and Law Clerk to the Honorable D. Carson Marcantel in Louisiana courts, where she gained extensive experience conducting legal research, analyzing complex legal issues, drafting memoranda, and assisting with judicial opinions and rulings.
During law school, Caroline distinguished herself as an accomplished advocate and leader. She served as Vice President of Judicial Administration for Louisiana State University Law Center’s Board of Advocates and was inducted into the Order of the Barristers in recognition of her outstanding advocacy achievements. Caroline also competed extensively in appellate advocacy and moot court competitions, earning numerous honors and helping lead her National Environmental Law Moot Court Competition team to a national finalist finish.
Prior to joining Scheef & Stone, Caroline served as a Judicial Staff Attorney to the Honorable D. Carson Marcantel of the 19th Judicial District Court in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. In that role, she conducted legal research, analyzed complex civil and criminal matters, drafted
rulings and memoranda, and assisted the court in resolving pretrial and post-trial issues.
Before serving as a Staff Attorney, Caroline worked as a Law Clerk and Legal Extern to Judge Marcantel at the Baton Rouge City Court. There, she drafted bench memoranda, opinions, and rulings on both civil and criminal matters while gaining firsthand experience with courtroom procedure and advocacy.
While attending law school, Caroline also served as a Governmental Affairs Intern with the USA Rice Federation, where she researched legislative and regulatory issues, prepared policy briefs, and participated in meetings with members of Congress and congressional
staff.
