Receiverships

Scheef & Stone, L.L.P. has more than 12 years of experience in representing Receivers and serving as a Receiver, Special Master, Monitor, or Distribution Agent in federal equity receiverships.  In such capacities, Scheef & Stone, L.L.P. attorneys worked extensively with the Securities and Exchange Commission, the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission, the Federal Trade Commission, and assisted law enforcement agencies such as the Secret Service, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, United States Marshals, and the United States Attorneys’ Office.  Because of the integrity of Scheef & Stone, L.L.P. and its outstanding reputation and experience in federal equity receiverships, the federal courts in the Northern, Southern, Eastern, and Western District of Texas, as well as the federal district courts in the Southern District of New York and the Southern District of Florida each appointed Scheef & Stone, L.L.P. attorneys to serve as a Receiver, Distribution Agent, or Monitor.  Moreover, in blazing new paths in the law regarding receiverships, Scheef & Stone, L.L.P. attorneys oftentimes successfully prosecuted or defended receivership issues appealed to the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, resulting in published opinions.  Scheef & Stone, L.L.P. participated in the founding of the National Association of Federal Equity Receivers (NAFER), which today includes receivers from throughout the nation.  In addition to federal equity receiverships, Scheef & Stone, L.L.P. attorneys are experienced in serving as a Receiver for the State of Texas and for private parties.
