Ruth J. Mitchell


Ruth J. Mitchell focuses her practice on real estate, in both commercial and residential areas. Ruth’s experience includes real property acquisition, development, and disposition; office, industrial and retail leasing matters; home builder contractor disputes and workouts; buyer/seller contract disputes and workouts; mortgage lending and finance; transactional banking; real estate brokerage licensing; corporate and business law; secured transactions; and loan servicing litigation. 

Ruth is focused on meeting her clients’ business objectives and providing high quality work delivered efficiently. She combines professionalism and diligence to effectively communicate with her clients and actively participates in the decision-making and business process. 

Ruth has represented national multifamily and mixed-use real estate institutions, investors, and developers, purchasers and sellers of shopping center, apartment, office and land development projects, institutional lenders, landlords and tenants, asset managers, special servicers, and real estate advisors in the acquisition, sale, financing, development, management, leasing and operation of various types of real estate, including raw land, office, retail, industrial, multi-family, mixed-use hotel properties, condominium regimes, shopping centers, master planned residential communities, medical facilities, and restaurants.

Ruth started her practice in the real estate section of Higier, Allen & Lautin, P.C. in Dallas where she worked on commercial and residential real estate matters, including the acquisition of nine multifamily apartment properties with an aggregate value of $250 million. Before practicing law, Ruth worked in the corporate world of finance as a loan processor and team loan officer. Her business experience has allowed her to more thoroughly understand and easily relate to the needs of her clients.
