Katherine Kelly Valent


An accomplished litigator, Katherine Kelly Valent works alongside clients to help them successfully resolve their legal issues while furthering their ultimate business objectives. Ms. Valent focuses her practice on commercial litigation, professional liability, and employment litigation matters.  Her clients include a broad range of industries, including commercial real estate, construction, insurance, oil and gas, medical, and transportation. Defended engineers and architects in professional malpractice litigation in state and federal court in business litigation, construction litigation, and personal injury/wrongful death cases;

Represented business owners in breach of contract disputes, mechanics lien claims, and project accidents;

Obtained summary judgment for architect in school of construction case involving allegations of multi-million dollar damages;

Obtained summary judgment for geotechnical engineer in multi-million dollar construction litigation matter involving the design of MSE walls;

Obtained dismissal of gender and sex discrimination claims asserted against apartment complex management company;

Obtained dismissal of professional liability claims following motion for summary judgment for engineer in wrongful death claim;

Secured favorable mediated settlement agreement for structural engineering firm in multi-party settlement after home collapsed.
