Gardner Savage

Biography

Gardner Savage has over twenty years experience practicing law in the areas of commercial real estate lending and real estate development. He has represented institutional lenders, owners, developers, real estate advisors, asset managers, landlords and tenants in the acquisition, sale, financing, development, management, leasing and operation of various types of real estate, including raw land, office, retail, industrial, multi-family and hotel properties.

Mr. Savage began his legal career in the midst of the savings and loan crisis of the late 80’s and early 90’s. He gained extensive experience representing commercial lenders in workouts of distressed real estate loans, foreclosure of Texas real estate properties and sale of REO properties. During this time period he also represented clients in the acquisition of large performing and non-performing loan portfolios from the Resolution Trust Corporation and the FDIC. Since the early 90’s, Mr. Savage has advised lenders and real estate developers in connection with various matters related to acquisition, development, construction and financing of commercial real estate projects across the nation. Mr. Savage has also represented a national senior housing developer in connection with acquisition and development financing as well as the negotiation of development consulting and property management contracts. His experience includes representing landlords and tenants in connection with commercial leases.

Mr. Savage’s experience encompasses all aspects of sophisticated commercial real estate transactions. For two decades he has helped his clients advance their most important transactions to closing by providing attention to detail, sound legal advice, effective coordination and hard work.
